Description
R-22 30 lb Refrigerant Cylinder — Virgin HCFC-22 for Service & Repair
This 30-pound cylinder of R-22 refrigerant — also called HCFC-22 or chlorodifluoromethane — is virgin product manufactured to AHRI-700 purity standards and factory-sealed for moisture-free service. R-22 remains the most widely used refrigerant in pre-2010 residential and commercial air-conditioning systems, heat pumps, and medium-temperature commercial refrigeration.
What this cylinder is for:
Use this 30 lb cylinder to top off, recharge, or service existing R-22 systems, including:
- Residential central air conditioners installed before 2010
- Heat pumps originally charged with R-22
- Commercial split systems and packaged units
- Walk-in coolers and medium-temperature refrigeration
- Large centrifugal chillers used for air conditioning and industrial process cooling
Production and import of new R-22 ended in the United States on January 1, 2020 under the Clean Air Act. Every cylinder sold today is drawn from existing U.S. inventory, and supply continues to tighten each cooling season. Stocking up now protects you from rising costs and seasonal shortages. R-22 is not approved for use in new equipment manufactured after January 1, 2010. It should never be mixed with R-410A, R-407C, R-422B (NU-22), or any other replacement refrigerant. Mixing refrigerants causes pressure imbalances, contaminates the compressor oil, and can lead to catastrophic equipment failure that voids manufacturer warranties.
